Made with love in Brazil by Projeto Fio's in-house embroiderers, as part of the brand's mission to enable skilled embroiderers to have a reliable source of income, and also a source of inspiration and art.
Projeto Fio is a social business empowering women through art education and art therapy in Rio. Founded by four women who were increasingly discouraged by the local fashion industry’s sexist and exploitative nature, Projeto Fio focuses on the value of craftsmanship and empowering each embroiderer.
“We understand fashion and art as tools of social transformation and female empowerment,” says the bold women behind the fashion label with a purpose.
The ethical online clothing store features dresses, tops, and shorts with a signature hand-made aesthetic against solid colours. Only natural fabrics, such as linen and cotton, are used to create the pieces.
